Sing Out! 2017 rocked Borneo Indonesia with January/February workshops at the Bina Cita Utama School in Rungan Sari Borneo Indonesia!
And it was hot! Mainly, 31 to 35 Centigrade (95 Fahrenheit) degrees in the daytime -
but the singers were mega-cool and super fast learners.
They found their groove in full voice with Go Down Moses and Hit the Road Jack and joyfully swayed to Down By The Riverside and Swing Low Sweet Chariot.
We did Laugh Yoga, Balance Stretching and Victory Poses for warmups and rounded out the sessions with…
The Microphone Game - their favourite part of the workshop, the silliest and most chaotic:
A student stands all alone at the front of the group - with the microphone - and speaks in a clear, proud voice, simply stating his or her name, their class, and something they like.
No laughing aloud.
It was pandemonium! So much fun.
I look forward to going back to Borneo and teaching at Bina Cita Utama School either later ths year or early next year.
