Biography |
Dylan Vaughn has been a professional musician and composer for over 35 years.
Born in Oklahoma, and raised on U.S. Air Force bases and very small towns in New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Florida, and Newfoundland, Canada, Dylan spent his formative teen years playing electric and acoustic guitar in rock, soul, and country bands, and passionately studying the music of J.S. Bach and John Dowland on solo classical guitar.
He studied music and composition at State University of New York at Albany, The Guitar Workshop (Roslyn, NY), and State University of New York at Stonybrook.
From the Conservatorio Oscar Esplá in Alicante, Spain, he received the title of Professor of the Guitar and the Outstanding Achievement Award (Prémio Extraordinario) under the tutelage of the legendary José Tomás.
Dylan studied classical guitar with many great masters including Jerry Willard, Alan Alexander, José Tomás, José-Luis González, Edgard Dana, Eric Harrison, and Dave Grenoble.
As an in demand instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass, and percussion, he has toured the USA, Australia, Spain, France, England, Australia, Austria, Germany, and the Middle East for many touring artists, orchestras and theater productions.
As a composer, some of Dylan's most recent projects include:
TEDDY, a musical celebrating the Steiff Company's 100th Year Anniversary of the creation of the Teddy Bear;
THE TWITS, a Belgrade Theatre production/adaptation and Great Britain tour of Roald Dahl's classic tale;
TIMBER TEE, the first global internet golf club for kids; and
CRESCEND'O, a water circus, directed by Muriel Hermine and Cirque du Soleil creator, Guy Caron, for Disney Paris and Cirque d'Hiver, Paris.
